Reba McEntire and the Oak Ridge Boys sing for their friend, George H.W. Bush, at Thursday's funeral in Texas

David J. Phillip-Pool/Getty ImagesPresident George H.W. Bush was a great fan of country music, so it was only fitting that two members of the Country Music Hall of Fame sang at his service Thursday in Texas.

Reba McEntire did “The Lord’s Prayer,” while the Oak Ridge Boys performed an a cappella version of “Amazing Grace.”

“What a lot of people may not know is he fancied himself to be a good bass singer,” the Oaks’ Joe Bonsall said before doing the classic hymn. “He was not,” he added, as the crowd erupted in laughter. “We’ll sing for our President.”

About 1,200 friends attended the intimate service at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston.

“It was an honor and privilege to sing at President George H.W. Bush’s funeral this morning,” Reba shared a short time later. “He was a great friend and leader and I will never forget the time we shared together.”

You can watch both Reba and the Oaks’ performances via ABC News.
